Hey Shivani,

Greetings from interviewchacha.
So it sounds like you are confused between a job switch and a MBA degree.
Lets see the pros and cons of both taking each at a time.

JOB SWITCH:
Considering you are currently working as a Business development associate i presume you have following responsibilities (as per told by you in a mail):
bidding portals elance and freelance and try and bring business through that..do cold calling to generate leads and convert them..also making proposals, gathering their requirements...and client servicing.. generate lead..convert it..brief the development team about the project, handle clients till completion of project.
And you want to switch to a Business Analyst profile. Business Analyst is someone who focuses more on devising new strategies, suggestions and guidelines based on companies prior records and performance. In short , he/she analyses the ongoing business and suggests best practices and what's need to be done. Where as you mainly work in a consultant role. Hence getting a job switch in par company would be difficult. Though not impossible. As you need sound aptitude and good business sense along with data analytics skills. You just need sharp these skills before you apply.
This said, Business analyst role differs from company to company.

MBA:
Now this looks really in your favor.
A consultant profile deals with ins and outs of real life business scenarios and hence the experience is counted as high. Also a managerial role seems more worthy than an individual contributor. You get good pay hikes, better job opportunities and of-course a better career path (with an MBA degree in your resume) for your near future.
Plus, job switch is a vicious circle and one really feels a need of a higher degree sooner or later in his career. May be this s the right time for you.

Our take: Go for MBA without giving it a second thought!
