About Plate IQ
Plate IQ is a 4+ year old startup, primarily based out of Silicon Valley. We’re a B2B business currently catering to the restaurants (hospitality) industry. To put it simply, we help restaurants improve their bottom-lines by automating their Invoice / Accounts Payable processing workflows and thereby providing large cost savings. At the moment, we primarily cater to customers based in the United States and Canada.
Position and Role
We are looking for a QA / SDET who will be responsible for developing end to end test automation and/or framework for Plate IQ services. You will be responsible for identifying poor customer experience by extensive manual and (as far as possible) automated tests. The mandate would be on building the right test automation at the most relevant layer. You partner closely with Engineering, Product and Design teams to enhance the user experience. You should be innovative, creative, flexible, self-directed, and understand quality assurance procedures and methodologies. 
What you’ll do 

• Work closely with product owners and business stakeholders to continuous refine software test requirements and provide feedback on user scenarios, and to ensure the quality of the product.
• Work closely with developers to clarify functional requirements, test case reviews and determine test automation requirements.
• Implement test design and work on test automation development and test execution.You write robust automated tests for high availability and scalable products.
• Contribute to improvements in unit testing coverage, design test framework; expand automated testing and automation scenarios/cases.
• Drive implementation for metrics and frameworks for production monitoring of services

Requirements
 
Non Technical

• Good communication skills
• Curiosity and inquisitiveness
• Ability to think critically and logically, and “try to break everything” attitude
• Ability to understand things and learn quickly

 
Technical

• You have a clear understanding of testing methodologies and best practices
• Minimum of one year experience writing comprehensive automated tests
• Prior experience with Selenium or similar automation frameworks is required
• Excellent analytical skills
• Good experience with at least one object-oriented language
• Good understanding of computer science fundamentals, databases, etc.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, continuous integration and continuous delivery
